What is love really about? Love is a very powerful feeling given by God to all humanity. There are many people out there who misinterpret what love really means or what it really is. Love is a very beautiful feeling towards anyone you want.

I am 16 years old and I may not be your best option for advice because I’ve never had a boyfriend before, which believe me is not “lame” in my point of view.

Let me tell you a little about myself and why I have chosen these paths. I’m a Christian teenage girl, 16 to be exact. I’m in 11th grade and trust me, high school has not been easy for me. I’ve been bullied so much that I don’t think anything hurts me anymore.

As time went by, he started to behave weirdly. His text messages began to worry me a little, but I never paid attention. That’s when I began to hear rumors about him around school.

I began to lose friends because I would try to defend him. One day I went to talk to him in front of his friends and he completely ignored me, which made me feel bad, but I just ignored it. Days later he texted me saying, “You think you can come over my house?” and I said “Why?” and he said, “Because if you want to be my girlfriend you have to prove your love to me.”

That’s when I realized that was it. I said “NO.” He began to swear at me. I just ignored him and until today I didn’t talk to him. I’m nice to him because I have God in my heart. I’m a very positive person and God tells me to forgive 70 times 7.

Well, I have been single all my life for the reason that guys my age are very immature and I believe God is saving the one special someone who I will share the rest of my life with.

Any girl out there who thinks they will stop being bullied if they do wrong things, or that they will be more loved by their boyfriends if they “prove their love,” and especially all those girls who think they are going to be “forever alone” — let me tell you: I know how you feel and trust me, it’s not worth it. God does special jobs for each one of his children. If you don’t believe in Him, trust me, when you come to Him and hold His hand and let Him lead your way, you will live a wonderful and happy life because a father wants the best for his children and you are not the exception.

Girls, you’re beautiful the way you are and don’t let anyone tell you you’re not. But do remember that you’re created by God’s hands and He makes pure perfection.

When we say that someone has a “good personality” we mean that they are likeable, interesting and pleasant to be with.

Everyone wants to be attractive to others.  To that end, having a good personality is vital – probably even more so than good looks.                                   This relates to how much you read and know. Once you have much to contribute, learn how to

                                  talk about it with others. No one can read about or know everything, so it’s refreshing to learn

                                   from others those things we don’t have the time to about read ourselves. If you happen to be shy,

                                    join a group like Toastmasters that encourages you to talk about what you know.

                 4.     Have an Opinion.

There is nothing more tiresome than trying to talk to someone who has no opinion on anything. A conversation has nowhere to go if you have nothing to expound on. If, however, you have an uncommon point of view or differing opinion, you are more interesting and stimulating to be with socially (unless you’re a know-it-all, of course).  A unique outlook expands everyone’s perspective.

                  5.   Meet New People.

Make the effort to meet new people especially those unlike you. It not only exposes you to different cultures and alternative

ways of doing things, it broadens your horizons.

                    6.   Be yourself.

The next most tiresome thing after having no opinions is trying to be something you’re not. Molding yourself in order to

fit in, or be accepted, usually backfires. Since each of us is unique, expressing that uniqueness is what makes us interesting.

Attempting to be a carbon copy of someone else not only falls flat, but reveals a lack of authenticity.

  7.     Have a positive outlook and attitude.

Who wants to be around people who are negative, complain a lot, or have nothing good to say? In fact, most of us run when we see them coming. Instead, be the kind of upbeat person who lights up a room with your energy when you enter it. Do it by looking for the best in people and things. Smile warmly, spread good cheer, and enliven others with your presence.

                        8.     Be fun and see the humorous side of life.

Everyone enjoys the company of someone who makes them laugh, or smile, so look for the humorous,

quirky side in a situation – there always is one. Comic relief is a much welcome and needed diversion

at times. When you can add fun and lightheartedness to an otherwise dull or gloomy setting, others

will naturally be attracted to you, not to mention grateful.

                       9.    Be supportive of others.

             Being supportive is probably the most endearing quality you can integrate into your personality. Just as you yourself              welcome it, be the  support

Translation: I’m insecure because I know I’m not as beautiful/hot/sexy as that model.

Your woman may make several variations of this comment. She may disparage the cheerleaders at a sporting event or sneer at the models on a Victoria’s Secret commercial. All of these comments are not meant to spite you for liking to look at them. She’s just checking in with you to make sure you think she is attractive enough. The correct answer to this kind of a comment is to reassure her that you think she’s gorgeous. Find something that makes you crazy about her, and compliment her, sincerely and genuinely. Disregard the comment about the model or the cheerleader. It’s not really about her, anyway.

Translation: I’m feeling insecure about my appearance. Tell me I’m beautiful.

Possible translation: This is a new outfit, and I’m not sure if it flatters me or not.

When it comes to dating tips, you need to navigate this ground carefully. All women need reassurance from time to time. A question like this may not be looking for honest feedback; it may be a cry for affirmation. However, if it seems she really does want feedback and if the outfit really does not flatter her, you can say, “It’s not you; it’s that outfit. You look great in this other dress/skirt/outfit. Maybe you could wear this one again?”

Translation: Do you think you’ll want kids someday?

Possible translation: Do you think you’ll want to make babies with me someday?

If your woman points out a baby, she’s probing to find out if you’re open to having children someday. She may already be thinking about a long-term relationship with you and is trying to find out if you are also thinking about having a family someday. Take this cue as the right time to discuss where you stand on children and possibly on the status of your relationship, if necessary.

How long have we been together now? Do you even know?

Translation: I think I’m more serious about this relationship than you are. Are you committed to me, or am I wasting my time with you?

This is the time to clarify how you feel about the relationship. If you are committed to her, reassure her of this, and take this comment as a cue to step up your expression of affection and commitment. If you aren’t interested in a long-term relationship, this is a good time to discuss the nature of your relationship and see if your perspective matches hers.

We don’t talk like we used to.

Translation: Talk to me. I don’t feel close to you. I’m worried about our relationship.

Watch out. This comment means the relationship is in trouble. She may be missing the long talks you had back when you were first getting to know each other and shared many details, or she just may not be feeling special and doesn’t know how else to tell you. In any case, this means your relationship needs attention now.

If you are invested in the relationship, instead of getting defensive, assure her you want to be close to her. Tell her you love her, and ask her if there’s anything on her mind that she wants to talk about. If she doesn’t have anything to say, start thinking of ways to spend time with her and to bond with her emotionally.
